Praia, Oct 21 (Inforpress) – The prices of imported products decreased 0.9 percent (%) in September this year, 0.1 percentage points (pp) higher than in the previous month, from according to the Foreign Trade Price Index.
According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), the monthly rate of change in the prices of exported products stood at -0.1% in September 2020, a value higher than 0.9 p.p, compared to the previous month. The monthly rate of change recorded by the Terms of Exchange Index was 0.9%, 0.7% higher than in August.
In September 2020, the import price index stood at 92.6, having recorded a decrease of 0.9% compared to the previous month. On the other hand, the index, underlying and volatile, on importation verified, according to a statement from INE, decreases of 0.8% and 1.5%, respectively, compared to the previous month.
According to the same source, the most significant price increases were recorded in the categories of “Consumer Goods” (0.9%), which is justified by the rise in prices of “processed food products” (0.9%), and “Capital goods” (0.6) due to the rise in “machine” prices (1.6%).
