Praia, April 26 (Inforpress) – Prices of essential foodstuffs remained in general stable between January and March 2017, informed today at Praia the Regulatory and Product Supervision Agency Pharmaceutical and Food (ARFA).
According to data released by ARFA, in the same period it was recorded a price decrease of -0.5% for cereals and -0.6% for beans.
Contrary to cereals and beans, there was an increase (+ 0.2%) in the price of sugar, (+ 0.5%) in milk powder and (+ 1.2%) in the oil.
Compared to the previous quarter (4 Trimester 2016), prices were mixed, with a higher increase in second-grade rice (+ 2.3%) and a larger drop in bongolom beans (-5.8%).
However, a comparative analysis between the prices of the first quarter of 2017 and those of the same quarter of 2016 points to a slight drop in the price of cereals (-0.5%) and beans (-0.6%), according to INE data.
