Assomada, May 12 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic urged the City Halls of the country “to pay more attention” to the noise pollution issue, which he considered a “national problem”, and warned of the effective compliance with the law on this matter.
José Maria Neves spoke to the press in Boa Entrada, Santa Catarina, where he is visiting, after elderly citizen from this municipality in the coutryside of Santiago asked him to use his influence, for seeing “violated his right to peace and quiet”.
“Noise [noise pollution] is a national problem, and City Hall need to pay more attention to this issue, given that it has to do with the quality of life of our city. People who have to work the next day cannot be disturbed and be subject to so much noise,” the Head of State said.
For this reason, he said it is necessary that municipalities manage this conflict in the best way, between recreational and other activities that have to be done and other needs to ensure the peace of mind of individuals.
