Praia, Oct 15 (Inforpress) – The president of the INSP stated today that hand washing with soap and water is increasingly of fundamental importance for the prevention of diseases and infections both in the context of the pandemic and other diseases.
The president of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), Maria da Luz Lima, made these statements in an interview with Inforpress, as part of Global Handwashing Day, celebrated each year on October 15, this year the theme is “Our Future is at Hand – Let’s Move Forward Together”.
According to this responsible, the celebration of this date serves to strengthen and appeal to all in the mobilization of resources and in the creation of conditions to ensure and promote the practice of hand washing.
“The practice of hand washing with soap and water is a fundamental act to prevent the transport of diseases to the human body, since the hands are a great source of transmission of diseases. That’s why it’s important to wash your hands, especially before feeding and preparing food, after using the bathroom, playing with animals and handling garbage, before and after taking care of injuries and visiting hospitalized people,” she said.
