Praia, Apr 12 (Inforpress) – The president of the Red Cross said on Thursday that the campaign to mobilize support to help victims of Cyclone Idai in Mozambique is moving “at a good pace”, assuring that the Cabo Verdean medical team will be in Mozambique next week.
Arlindo de Carvalho spoke in statements to the press, on the fringes of the inauguration ceremony of the Local Council Headquarters of Praia and delivery uniform to the children of the Cruz Vermelha kindergarten in the City of Praia.
According to this person, the Cabo Verdean medical team did not travel to Mozambique as planned, due to problems related to air transport, from Portugal, explaining in this sense that Cabo Verde wanted to take advantage of the possibility of sending team together with the Portugal.
However, considering the seriousness of the situation, he said, the Cabo Verdean government has already activated Plan B, sending the team, consisting of four doctors, six nurses and a psychologist, will travel on the commercial flight to Mozambique in the next week.
