President of ANMCV asks the Government for more resources for municipalities

Praia, Jan 7 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Association of Municipalities of Cabo Verde (ANMCV), Herménio Fernandes, on Thursday asked the Government for more resources so that the municipalities can improve some environmental aspects in order to attract tourism.

Despite recognizing that, in the last four years, the Government has made a “great effort” by making “large sums” of resources available to municipalities, through various instruments, such as the environment, tourism and road funds and the Requalification, Rehabilitation and Accessibility program, the new president of ANCV understands that it is necessary to go further.

According to the mayor of São Miguel, who spoke in statements to Inforpress, these resources have allowed “accelerating the growth process” in the municipalities and “guaranteeing significant improvements” on the territorial leve, in environmental matters, in terms of oppening and urban requalification and environmental, as well as in the housing area.
