City of Praia, Apr 10 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, highlighted the great contribution that the Armed Forces of Cape Verde have made in essential moments of the country, and argued that it is necessary to value this patriotic engagement.
The head of state, who was this afternoon at the Agostinho Neto Hospital and at the Military Polyclinic, at the Eugénio Lima barracks, to inquire about the situation of the surviving soldiers of the road accident that occurred on April 2 in the Guindão area, Tarrafal municipality, praised the fundamental role that the military institution has had in the life of the republic.
“We have an institution that has made a great contribution to the country, there is a great patriotic engagement of the Armed Forces in all essential moments of the life of the Republic, in natural disasters, in epidemics like dengue, now in the issue of covid-19 and in the fire that occurred in the forest perimeter of Serra Malagueta,” he pointed out.
The President of the Republic, who stated that the visit aims to pay tribute to the Armed Forces, considered that the current moment is to present condolences, solidarity, and friendship to the bereaved families and to do everything possible for the soldiers who are still hospitalized to recover quickly.
