Praia, Dec 2 (Inforpress) – The country’s capital will benefit, as of January, from an additional desalination plant, financed by the Netherlands, increasing daily water production by five thousand cubic meters, said the Águas de Santiago’s PCA (ADS) to Inforpress.
Olívio Ribeiro, who talked about the normalization of water distribution in the city of Praia and São Domingos, who were experiencing a water shortage due to a malfunction in one of Electra’s desalination plants, guaranteed that with this machine working some areas in South Santiago will have water in the network 24 hours per day.
“In Praia, this is the big news regarding water distribution. The increase in water will cover areas that were not previously included in the network, with a water load for 24 hours”, he added.
In addition, he informed that Cidadela neighborhoods and others did not have a water network will benefit, at the beginning of the year, from a pipeline that will be installed with financing from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Kuwait Fund.
