Praia, Aug 4 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Praia, Óscar Santos, promised greater centrality to the Fazenda neighborhood, after the opening of the “Ao Ponto” esplanade, located in the square next to the New Apostolic Church.
In a statement to Inforpress, after the inauguration of the infrastructure, this Monday, Óscar Santos said that this work cost 21 million escudos, through a public-private partnership, approved by the Municipal Assembly.
“There are people who are against the public-private partnership, who even asked for an embargo on the work, but they have to reflect that in any society or economy this type of partnership is a fundamental instrument to promote development,” stated the mayor of Praia.
For the mayor of Praia, “this type of policy with a lack of common sense” ends up blocking the private initiative, since, as he noted, the local authority must always give “a good sign” and not “drive away” companies.
