Praia, Jul 22 (Inforpress) – The president of the MpD Political Assembly (ruling party) of Praia accused the PAICV of repeatedly attacking the CMP, claiming that it is “distracted” and “sleepwalking” about the investments made by the City Hall in sewerage system.
Manuel Alves made these statements this Tuesday in reaction to the Political Commission of the African Party of Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV – opposition party ) statements about the absence of policies for the sanitation sector.
This official recalled that the responsibility for investment in the primary sector of the sewage and water network has always been the Government’s, stressing, however, that the municipality of Praia is the only one that has invested in improving basic sanitation conditions.
The President of the Political Assembly of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) blamed the former PAICV government in this regard for the current situation of the primary sewage network in Praia, noting that for 15 years, it has not invested in health infrastructure , when ELECTRA was the company responsible for the sector.
