Praia, Aug 4 (Inforpress) – Former footballer Remígio Baessa, known in the football world as “Tunny’s”, will open an initiation school in Praia City, aimed at goalkeepers, called “Tunny’s for Goalkeeper”.
Speaking to Inforpress, the former goalkeeper, who last season worked on the Travadores team, said that this idea came about in 2019 during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The periods of confinement give us time to think, and it was precisely during this time this idea emerged that it was maturing and today I am about to make it a reality,” he explained.
Tunny’s added that since this initiation school it also appears to fill a gap existing in the Santiago Island in the training area of goalkeeper.
“There needs to be a specific trainig for the goalkeepers and, if we look, the Cabo Verdean players in that position have not gone abroad much because they have no basic training,” Tunny’s said, defending the need for specific work.
