Praia, Oct 13 (Inforpress) – The CMP today accused the CNPD of assuming a “clear defense of the procedure” rather than “content” and agreeing with the principle that people use public goods without the full State’s knowledge.
The complain by the Municipality of Praia follows the press release of councilwoman Chissana Magalhães on the deliberation of the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD), issued earlier this week, with its decision in relation to the complaint filed by the councilwoman at City Hall of Praia against the Mayor Francisco Carvalho measure to install a global positioning system (GPS) equipment in their vehicles and in the others of the City Hall.
In its Resolution No. 14/2021 the CNPD informed the decision to “temporarily prohibit the processing of data from the geo-location under responsibility of CMP and Unitel T+, until notification to the CNPD and final decision” and also determined the definitive delete of all personal data, including those of the complainants, collected through the GPS system and, consequently prohibit its use.
The CMP, reacting to this deliberation, stated that “at no time did it call into question the opportunity, importance and goodness of this administrative and patrimonial act”, which is part of the City Hall governance program confirmed at the polls in October 2020.
