Cidade da Praia, 16 May (Inforpress) – The mayor of Praia, Francisco Carvalho, said today that, for the first time, the municipality has a team committed to taking “structural and fundamental measures” to face and solve the complexity of the urban situation in the capital.
In this interview with Inforpress, Francisco Carvalho began by saying that his team began, in fact, to dialogue with the heirs, with the aim of resolving this issue that has to do with this “urban complexity”, since, as he said, the City Council does not have many plots of land, most of which are private.
“And we started to dialogue with the heirs, precisely so that we can have a framework of understanding. For now, it’s the only way to contain illegal constructions. On the one hand, it’s a way of easing and normalising the relationship between the council and private parties, the heirs of the land”, he said.
This is a process that, according to Francisco Carvalho, started with the São Martinho heirs, having even reached the signing of a memorandum of understanding, and is currently finalising the detailed plan in dialogue with the people who occupied those plots of land in the São Martinho area.
