Praia, Feb 24 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic on Tuesday considered that Cabo Verde, as the outermost region of the Africa-Europe dialogue, is strengthened, as it already relates to the EU in the framework of the Special Partnership goes out of the Cotonou Agreement.
Jorge Carlos Fonseca expressed this conviction during the 10th meeting on the “Strategic Triangle Latin America-Europe-Africa, which this year takes place in the virtual format, dedicated to the theme “Economic Recovery and Global Health” and which intervened in the colloquium closing, as guest of honor.
The Head of State underlined the fact that the EU has elected the bilateral relationship as the centre of gravity of its overall action, aiming to forge stronger and binding commitments in the post-Cotonou period.
The President of the Republic said that the African Union and the ACP Group of States not only recognise, but also advocate the incorporation of existing bilateral agreements with the European Union into their positions.
