Mindelo, Mar 15 (Inforpress) – The President of São Tomé and Príncipe praised this Wednesday, in Mindelo, the “excellence” of the route taken by Cape Verde in the area of the sea, an experience that he wants to take advantage of for his country in partnerships and cooperation.
That is, according to Carlos Vila Nova, who was speaking at the Oceanographic Center of Mindelo, at the end of his four-day visit to Cape Verde, what he saw, especially in the field of the sea, “cannot be translated or repeated in São Tomé and Príncipe”. Because, it is a journey that takes time and requires resources, which “we do not have at the moment”. He summarized.
“What I take with me, is a feeling of looking at the sea, but looking at Cape Verde and São Vicente, in particular, and taking advantage of that advantage”. He clarified, recalling that his country has a “screaming” need to “look more to the sea”, were it not for the dimension of the maritime space of São Tomé and Príncipe “160 times larger” than the respective terrestrial space.
When summing up the visit, Carlos Vila Nova considered that they were “well spent” days and a visit “well achieved from all points of view”, that is, “we raised even more” this relationship to “an excellence that has no parallel ”.
