PR enacted law establishing access to and exercise of professions and activities subject to professional card

Praia, Dec 1 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic, Jorge Carlos Fonseca enacted, this Monday, the 30th, the law establishing the legal regime on access and exercise of professions and professional activities subject to the ‘professional card.

The law, a proposal approved last May in the Council of Ministers, aims to respond to the need for organization and regulation of professions, especially those located within economy key sectors, in compliance with the constitutionally defined limits, as explained at the time the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente.

Thus, qualification with the professional card becomes an indispensable condition for the exercise of professions and professional activities may be regulated and will be valid throughout the national territory, with a maximum term of validity of three years and subject to renewal.

On the occasion Abraão Vicente stated that this does not prejudice the powers attributed to the authorities to, at all times, suspend, revoke, declare expiry and, consequently, seize the professional card, in the exceptional cases duly identified and provided for by law.
