Praia, May 25 (Inforpress) – The Program for the Promotion of Rural Socioeconomic Opportunities (Poser) has already generated 3,435 jobs and benefited 21,878 people, 2,431 of which in 55 rural areas of the seven islands where it is implemented.
These data were presented today, in Praia, by the Ministry of Agriculture, as part of a visit to Cabo Verde by a team from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), headed by its vice-president, Jyotsna Puri, with the mission to monitor and evaluate the projects implemented by Poser.
The data also indicate that there was an increase in agricultural production by 518 hectares, greater food and nutritional resilience in poor rural communities and with direct benefits in 33 percent (%) of families.
Reinforcing the use of photovoltaic energy in rural areas for water mobilization, the creation of the Água de Rega company, and the contribution to energy transition and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions are other results achieved by Poser.
