Lisbon, April 19 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, will meet with Cape Verdean students from the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre (IPP), Portugal, as part of his official three-day visit to this European country.
According to the visit’s program, which started on Tuesday, April 18, and will continue until Thursday, April 20, José Maria Neves will be received at the Paços do Concelho of Portalegre by the mayor and will have a meeting with Cape Verdean students from the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre.
In the academic year 2021/2022, 17 out of 117 Cape Verdean students studying at IPP completed their undergraduate degrees under the existing protocol between IPP and the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES) since 2018.
At the time, the president of IPP, Luís Loures, explained to Inforpress that in the first year of the protocol’s validity, they received a contingent of 18 Cape Verdean students, 40 in the following year, then 45, and in the last academic year, 117.
