Portugal: Organisation wants to be a platform of contact and understanding between Cape Verdean diaspora and civil society

Lisbon, Sep 15 (Inforpress) – The Platform of the Cabo Verde Diaspora Association (PLTCVD) wants to be a platform for contact and understanding with Cape Verdean civil society, in its various areas, and to contribute to the development of the archipelago.

This is one of the objectives of the 1st Meeting of the Platform of the Cabo Verde Diaspora Association (PLTCVD), which will take place from 21 to 23 September in Lisbon and will run simultaneously with its first General Assembly.

“We want to create a platform for contact and understanding with Cape Verdean civil society in general, such as students, other people who have their own private projects, academics and businesspeople, so that we can get collaborators,” the creator of the PLRCVD, Rolando Borges, told Inforpress, indicating that only organised associative movements were invited at this initial stage.

On the other hand, Rolando Borges pointed out that the data shows that the diaspora has always contributed to Cabo Verde, but that it can contribute even more, but that it is necessary to see a reflection of the aid, in other words, “to be a contributor and feel satisfaction in the contribution” that is made.
