Lisbon, Sep 15 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean writer Germano Almeida was awarded the “Prestígio Mais Alentejo Cabo Verde” award at the 20th edition of the Alentejo Awards gala, of the Mais Alentejo Magazine, which took place this weekend at the São José Seminary in Vila Viçosa.
In addition to the Excellence, Travel and Prestige Awards, in which the Cabo Verdean writer Germano Almeida, Camões Award in 2018, was one of the distinguished, the contest had 17 categories and a total of 85 nominees, with the vote exceeding one million votes, according to the organization.
The Excellence, Travel and Prestige Awards have also awarded several other Portuguese (and Alentejo) personalities from various sectors of society, namely photography, music, television and sports, as well as institutions and companies that in Alentejo have played, in the last 20 years, a “leading role” in the development of the region.
This Sunday, Germano Almeida also participated in the debate on “Multiculturalism”, in the seventh edition of the Book Festival in Amadora, organized within the framework of the 43rd anniversary of this Portuguese municipality.
