Portugal: First Lady is optimistic about responding to requests she receives through international cooperation

Lisbon, Aug 1 (Inforpress) – The first lady, Débora Carvalho, says she is optimistic because she believes she can respond to the various requests she has received to solve problems from different people, through international cooperation, notably with Portuguese institutions.

The optimism is the result of the meetingsm the First Lady held on the sidelines of the visit of the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, to Portugal, from July 28 to 31, at the invitation of her Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, with the aim of strengthening historical, political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

Child Support Institute, chaired by former Portuguese First Lady Manuela Eanes, the Padre António de Oliveira Educational Centre, the Reception Centre for the homeless, visit to the Estoril Red Cross facilities, meeting with the president of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, António Feijó, and meeting with the provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Lisbon, Eduardo Martinho, where the meetings were held

“All the requests we have received we are seeking to support with international partnerships. I think that in addition to our Diaspora there are many friendly institutions of Cabo Verde and all I contacted know our reality very well and said they would support directly, but also mobilize other partners. We are pleasantly confident that things will go well”, explained Débora Carvalho in the balance of these days of visit to Portugal.
