Portugal: Death of Cabo Verdean in Bragança in a road accident shocked the community

Lisbon, May 9 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Óscar Monteiro, about 40 years old, coach of the African student team, died on Sunday night, the 8th, in Bragança, after a road accident with a motorcycle in the Northern city of Portugal.

The identity of the late was confirmed to Inforpress by a Cabo Verdean student in Bragança, who said he was unable to provide more information, because the whole community “is in shock” due to the coach’s death, well known in the academic community.

Óscar Monteiro, who had lived for several years in Bragança, where he went to study at the Polytechnic Institute, was president of the African Students Association and coach of the African Students Team of Bragança, which is devoting to soccer in that city.

Information provided by source from the Volunteer Firefighters of Bragança to the local press tell that the death of Óscar Monteiro was declared in the Bragança Hospital to where he was transported with very serious injuries he suffered after the motorcycle accident in one of the streets in that city.
