Portugal: Ceramist Jacira da Conceição with a busy schedule in May participates in artistic residency in Beja

Lisbon, 08 May (Inforpress) – Cape Verdean ceramist and sculptor Jacira da Conceição is to take up an artistic residence in Beja (Portugal), starting this Friday, 12 May, as well as having three other exhibitions on the agenda for this month of May.

The artist, who was born in Tarrafal, on the island of Santiago, and lives in Portugal, was invited to the artistic residency, within the scope of Futurama 2023 – Ecossistema Cultural e Artístico do Baixo Alentejo, by the curator of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Rita Fabiana, which runs until the end of May.

Futurama um is a cultural project that aims to promote the decentralization of the cultural offer with a program centered on Baixo Alentejo (Beja, Castro Verde, Mértola, Serpa and Vidigueira), through creation, production, programming, education and participation activities.

Speaking to Inforpress, the artist said that also on the 20th of May, she will be opening an exhibition at the Municipal Gallery of Montemor-o-Novo, where she lives, and in a “great international show”, at the Water Museum, in Lisbon, from the 26th of May.
