Praia, Sep 29 (Inforpress) – The Vice-President of Camões – Institute for Cooperation and Language, I.P. made a positive assessment of the strategic cooperation program underway between Cabo Verde and Portugal, stressing that the two Governments are aligned in the preparation of the next SGP.
Speaking to reporters in Praia, Cristina Moniz, who is in Cabo Verde as part of a four-day visit, explained that the objective of the Portuguese mission to the archipelago is to evaluate the program still in force (2017-2021), in which the indicative funding was 120 million euros.
“The assessment was taken together with our Cabo Verdean partners in the implementation of the current SGP was generally very positive”, she said, noting, however, that it was also recognized that some activities were affected by the constraints resulting from the pandemic, which caused some delays in certain activities.
Cristina Moniz said that a detailed and in-depth evaluation of the projects was made, taking into account the cooperation between the two countries is very intense and, therefore, there were many fields to cover, pointing out the current program had an execution of around 70%.
