Porto Novo, Nov 8 (Inforpress) – A group of workers in Ribeira das Patas, in the countryside of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, expects to receive, three months ago, their wages owed by the City Hall, following work done in August, to this municipality.
The workers’ spokesman, Lourenço Cruz, reported that they are “dozens” of workers, all heads of household, who are going through “many difficulties” waiting for the City Hal to pay their salaries, for work done in August.
“It is sad to know that we have money to receive and we are going through difficulties”, said the worker, urging the City Hall of Porto Novo to provide the regularization of its wages “as soon as possible”.
This concern has sometimes been raised by some of these workers in meetings with City Hall representatives, which says they are waiting for the transfer of funds by the Government to regularize the situation with these workers.
