Porto Novo, Mar 29 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA) has “green light” from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to resume the project works for pumping and water supply in the Planalto Leste, in the municipality of Porto Novo.
The information was forwarded today to Inforpress by the MAA representativ, the main contractor, Joel Barros, who confirmed that IFAD has already granted the “non-objection” to the financing of the package of 12 million escudos to execution of the “additional works”, which is why the conditions for the resumption of the project, suspended three weeks ago, are created.
The MAA delegate in Porto Novo said that this ministry is “now working out the details” with the company executing the contract work for the resumption the work “in the coming days”, stopped on March 10, due to the delay in the payment related to “additional works”.
The main contractor representative told Inforpress that the 70 million escudos corresponding to the initial financing of the project, launched in 2019, was “completed”, but it was lacking to mobilize the remaining funding to cover “the additional work”.
