Porto Novo: The City Hall grants 16 hectares of land to CVCV to set up an international logistics base

Porto Novo, Jan 30 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Porto Novo (Santo Antão Island) granted to the Cabo Verde Red Cross (CVCV) an area of 16 hecteres of land for the construction of a logistics base with an international dimension, according to the mayor of Porto Novo.

The concession of the plot of land on Tuesday in the eastern part of the city of Porto Novo, near the beach of Curraletes, is part of an agreement of collaboration signed on Tuesday between the two institutions, which includes interventions to support actions relating to older people.

Anibal Fonseca, the mayor explained that this is a “big dimension” partnership for his municipality and for the country, because it will enable CVCV to set up in Porto Novo a logistics base for the northern region of Cabo Verde, but still capable of to cover the African sub-region.

In compensation, the CVCV, through its president Arlindo de Carvalho, granted to the City Hall of Porto Novo a sum of two million escudos for the reconstruction of a nursing home in the municipality.
