Porto Novo: Soap industry known in the US, Macao and the Canaries already attracts interest from multinationals

Porto Novo, Feb 4 (Inforpress) – The small soap industry, launched in the city of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, in 2016, is beginning to arouse the interest of hygiene products multinationals in England and the United States of America (USA).

The factory, located in Ribeira das Patas, in Porto Novo, which produces bar and liquid soap, manufactured based on natural products, is already exporting to the USA, Macao and the Canaries, and begins to arouse, due to the quality of the product, the interest of the American multinational, Palmolive.

The British company Unilever, which owns the Dove brand, has also expressed interest in soap “paradise soaps”, a small industry, which is being developed by Inês Silva, a former immigrant in the USA, a native from Brava who chose Santo Antão to develop her enterprise, which employs seven people at this time.

According to Inês Silva, the production is around 380 soaps (liquids and bars) per day, and the factory is creating the conditions to within a short time, bet on the production of shampoo too.
