Municipality Day: “Brava” brand presented to the public through Renda Brava products Nova Sintra, Jun 24 (Inforpress) – The first collection by Renda Brava products project, which represents the Brava brand, was presented to the citizens of Brava, in an exhibition organized by CNAD and the City Hall, in Nova Sintra. At the inauguration, the director of the National Center for Art, Crafts and Design (CNAD), Irlando Ferreira, showed that the exhibition and the brand represent the achievement of a “very great” challenge, because working from São Vicente to Brava, through digital means, “is completely different” than when working in person. As he pointed out, since 2018, when the project began, they were already aware that it would be a challenge, but the motivation of the creatives, both designers and the hand-embroidered made by women, made the CNAD and everyone involved bet everything was possible so that the project could get to what it is today. According to this official, the hand-embroidered made by women in Brava no longer exists for several years, and the CNAD wanted with the project to bring hand-embroidered made by women that had identity and symbology with this island, explaining the care the team had in carrying out the work. Porto Novo: Sanitation and recovery of the vicinal roads network among the main challenges of local tourism

Porto Novo, May 16 (Inforpress) – The construction of tourist infrastructure, sanitation, the recovery and maintenance of the vicinal roads network, in addition to the training of tour operators, are the major challenges directly linked to tourism in the municipality of Porto Novo.

This information is contained in a survey made by the City Hall of Porto Novo, according to which Porto Novo is facing other challenges in terms of tourism, which relate to the tourism promotion of the municipality and also the need to improve the production chain of local tourism.

With regard to the vicinal roads, the City Hall anticipates “good prospects” with regard to the recovery, later this year, of these tourist routes, thanks to a program already financed by the World Bank for the entire island of Santo Antão, in about four million euros.

For this year, municipal investments in the tourism sector are around 20 million escudos, money that will be directed towards City Hall for the tourist promotion of pilgrimage festivals, promotion of the municipality as a tourist destination, participation of the municipality in tourist fairs and for the requalification  of the second phase of Curraletes beach.
