Porto Novo, Jun 16 (Inforpress) – The relocation of the Santo Antão purge center to the port of Porto Novo is “a decision made” by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA) that is preparing to implement this measure later this year.
Who says so is the Delegate of the MAA in Porto Novo, Joel Barros, who told Inforpress that this Ministry is finalizing negotiations with the National Company of Port Administration (Enapor) with a view to the installation and operation of this post-harvest center in the port area.
According to Joel Barros, it is only necessary to “reconcile some points” with Enapor for the signing of the agreement under which the commitment made with the agricultural producers of Santo Antão to relocate the purge center, built in 2010, to the Porto Novo pier will be fulfilled.
Agricultural producers in Santo Antão have been insisting on the relocation this center to the port facilities, which is located on the outskirts of the city of Porto Novo, almost three kilometers from the port, as it is in the process of taking place.
