Porto Novo, Jul 09 (Inforpress) – The 70 families from Monte Trigo village, Porto Novo, Santo Antão, say they are “avid” to consume quality water, urging the Government to move forward later this year with the “promised seawater desalination plant”.
The Government promised, earlier this year, to invest more than 50 million ecudos in the installation of a seawater desalination plant in Monte Trigo, whose population has been consuming “a water without quality, with an impact on public health”.
The president of the Monte Trigo Community Association, Rosa Miranda, said that people in this village are “avid” to consume “quality water”, wishing the Government will realize, later this year, the announced investments, that is, the installation of the unit for production of drinking water.
A mission composed of technicians from the Águas da Ponta Preta company (APP) was in April, at Monte Trigo, in the framework of preparations for the installation of the desalination plant, in the community.
