Porto Novo, June 27 (Inforpress) – Thirty-three families of weak resources in the city of Porto Novo (Santo Antão) will have their homes rehabilitated, even before the rainy season, within the framework of the city’s urban requalification program, financed by the Government.
The recovery works of the 33 houses, starting from July, will be in charge of a group of local subcontractors, who already signed the respective contracts with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Land Planning and Housing.
According to a local source, “hundreds” of families throughout the municipality of Porto Novo live in housing, whose living conditions are “very precarious”.
To mitigate this situation, the City Council of Porto Novo launched a housing program called “ajudobe compô bô casa” (helping you set up your home) six months ago, which focuses mainly on rehabilitation, through which it waits until 2020 expects to recover about 800 houses.
