Porto Novo: More than 50 students receive scholarships from the Dar as Mãos a Tarrafal de Monte Trigo Association

Porto Novo, Sep 28 (Inforpress) – The non-governmental organization “Dar as Mãos a Tarrafal de Monte Trigo Association”, in the municipality of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, granted, this school year, scholarships to 53 students from the locality, from secondary education to higher education.

The information was announced by the representative from this association, Jailson Carvalho, explaining that the scholarships vary between one thousand escudos and five thousand escudos, subsidies granted to all students from Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, who continue their studies outside this locality.

Education is, moreover, one of the Dar as Mãos a Tarrafal de Monte Trigo Association areas of action, created in 2015, which also supports children from primary and preschool education, in that locality.

Jailson Carvalho said that this association, which has been one of the development partners of Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, has in its portfolio some projects for this village, such as a multipurpose center, a community radio and the installation of a glass milling unit.
