Porto Novo: Member of Parliament urges Government to implement water supply projects for livestock farmers

Porto Novo, May 5 (Inforpress) – The MP Damião Medina urged the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to do “everything in its power” to implement water supply projects for livestock in the lower part of Porto Novo.

The Member of Parliament of the Movement for Democracy (MpD, ruling party), elected by Santo Antão, was on Tuesday, the 3rd, visiting the livestock farmers and called on this Ministry to “do everything in its power so that, at the first opportunity, the projects come into operation”.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is preparing to launch two projects, around 8 million escudos in the lower part of Porto Novo, for water connection to corrals, benefiting 40 livestock farmers in Ribeira de Tortolho, and construction of a reservoir in Ribeira Brava to supply 30 shepherds.

“It is our call for everything in place to do everything in its power so that, at the first opportunity, these two projects will come into operation for the joy and relief of livestock farmers,” he said.
