Porto Novo, Mar 5 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, Aníbal Fonseca, has already admited to run for the next local elections, which are still taking place this year in Cabo Verde.
The mayor of Porto Novo, who has held office since 2016, says he is “satisfied” with his performance at the head of the City Hall and therefore wishes to continue to direct the future of this municipality for the next four years.
In fact, the mayor took advantage of the most recent session of the Porto Novo Municipal Assembly, held on the first day of February, to assess the last activities report, to announce his decision to run for a second term.
Aníbal Fonseca acknowledges that he did not fulfill “some of the commitments” made in 2016, but believes that Porto Novo citizens give a “positive note” to the work done by his team, and for this reason he is willing to continue to “help” this municipality in its development process. The City Hall executive, chaired by Aníbal Fonseca, is supported by the Movement for Democracy (MpD), ruling party in Cabo Verde.
