Porto Novo, May 21 (Inforpress) – Urban requalification has been “one of the big bets” by the City Hall of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, which in the last four years has invested more than one hundred million escudos this area, informed the mayor.
Anibal Fonseca, who was speaking on Wednesday, 20th, at the launch of the urban requalification works in Alto Mira and Lajedos, countryside of the municipality, explained that since 2016 the City Hall team has carried out the urban requalification “throughout the municipality”, with a “very relevant” impact in improving the quality of life of Porto-Novo citizens.
“The urban requalification has been, effectively, one of the great bets of this City Hall team. In these four years, we carried out requalification throughout the municipality, with a greater incidence in the city of Porto Novo”, underlined this mayor, informing that the City Hall, “surely”, has already invested more than one hundred thousand contos in urban and environmental qualification, in partnership with the government.
The funds were made available within the framework of the Tourism and Environment funds, but also under the Requalification, Rehabilitation and Accessibility Programme (PRRA), said Aníbal Fonseca, explaining that in the city of Porto Novo the neighborhoods of Chã de Galinheira, Chã de Viúva, Alto São Tomé, Chã de Itália and Abufadouro was covered.
