Porto Novo, Jun 2 (Inforpress) – Porto Novo, Santo Antão, is now assuming itself as an “example” in Cabo Verde when it comes to investments in renewable energy, thanks to the various projects carried out in the last eight years, in this municipality, informed the City Hall of Porto.

A note published by the City Hall states that the investments already made in Porto Novo, since 2012, contributed to the electrification in several rural communities, to the promotion of agriculture, through water pumping, and also to the promotion of the fishing sector, through ice production for fish conservation.

Porto Novo is also considered as “a case of success” in terms of electrification of communities based on solar photovoltaic energy because it was the first municipality in Cabo Verde to have a 100% electrified community with renewable energy.
