Porto Novo, May 2 (Inforpress) – Thousand and seven hundred jobs were created in the last six months in the municipality of Porto Novo thanks to investments made between October and April, of almost 13 million escudos, mainly in the road sector.
The mayor of Porto Novo, Anibal Fonseca, explained that the interventions carried out during this period were essentially aimed at restoring normalcy in the countryside of the municipality in terms of the movement of people, by carrying out road rehabilitation works in the main roads and secondary.
Most of the investments were financed by the Government, as part of the program to replace the damages caused by the floods, which hit Santo Antao in September 2016.
Throughout 2017, the City Hall of Porto Novo plans to invest, in partnership with the Government, around 37 million escudos in the roads maintenance and municipal roads.
