Porto Novo: Almost a year after reopening the cheese factory recovers dynamics in the national market – Administration

Porto Novo, Oct 10 (Inforpress) – The Porto Novo cheese factory, which reopened ten months ago, is recovering the momentum in the national market, focusing so far on Santo Antão, São Vicente and Sal and will arrive, soon, to Santiago.

The factory, also known as the agri-food center, was closed for three years (between 2013 and 2016) due to financial difficulties but, according to the new administration, it has sought to regain the national market, believing that turnover should increase in this last quarter of 2017.

This plant, acquired in 2016 from the State of Cape Verde by entrepreneurs João Santos and Pedro Santos, natives of Ribeira das Patas, in the countryside of Porto Novo, produces cheeses (fresh and ripened), curd cheese and charcuterie).

In addition to the national market, this agri-food center also intends to reach the Cabo Verdean diaspora in the world, with the so-called “products of saudade”.
