Praia, Sep 27 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verdean writer José Luíz Tavares represents Cabo Verde at the First International Poetry Meeting, taking place from October 12 to 14 in Ponta Delgada, in the Azores – Portugal.
Under the theme “Condição de Ilheu” (, this event, organized by the City Hall of Ponta Delgada, has the participation of 15 poets from Italy, Cabo Verde, the Canary Islands, Madeira and another 30 from the Islands of São Miguel, living in Lisbon.
Cabo Verde will be represented by José Luíz Tavares, author of “Paraíso Apagado por um Trovão” (2003); “Agreste Matéria Mundo (2004); “Lisbon Blues seguido de Desarmonia” (2008); Cabotage & Ressaca (2008); “Cidade do Mais antigo Nome” (2009); “Coração de lava” (2014); “Contrabando de Cinzas” (2016).
According to information from the local authority of Ponta Delgado, on its website, the program starts on October 12, with the inauguration of a painting exhibition representative of Macaronesia (Azores, Madeira, Canaries and Cabo Verde), followed by the launching of a book with nine island poems of nine contemporary poets from the nine islands.
