Praia, Nov 17 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister (PM), Ulisses Correia e Silva, went to the Presidency of the Republic to share with the Head of State the “great lines” of the State Budget for 2022, recognizing that the country is going through a “very difficult” situation.
“We are in a very difficult global economic and social context and, of course, this which strongly impacts Cabo Verde, public finances, businesses and families,” said the Head of Government, adding that this is why “we will have the most difficult budget the country has ever had in its history.”
According to Correia e Silva, this situation presupposes safeguarding the essential impact on families, particularly the poorest and at the same time there is a need to make “the adjustments will be necessary”.
“In three years, the State loses more than 60 billion escudos in revenue because the economic contraction was very strong,” claimed the chief executive, noting that in 2020 there was a “significant drop” in terms of what the country produces in terms of wealth, which is 15 percent (%) and this has an “impact on public finances and, also in the life of companies.”
