Praia, June 28 (Inforpress) – Pluviometric forecasts for 2017 indicate average to above-average rains for Cabo Verde, creating farmers “hope” for a “good” agricultural campaign and, on the other hand, “concerns” in other sectors, said Antonino Pereira.
The technician of the National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (INMG), Antonino Pereira, made these considerations to the press today in Praia City, on the sidelines of the rainy season preparation meeting, promoted by the National Civil Protection and Fire Service (SNPCB).
“All the global models of the rainforest subregion reproduce situations of average rainfall (normal) or above average (above normal) rainfall for Cabo Verde. We can say above average, or above normal, or even surplus,” he announced.
Given this situation, Antonino Pereira warned that this news could bring national farmers “a lot of hope” for a “good agricultural campaign”, while also carrying “concerns” for other sectors of activities, such as health, civil construction, fisheries, tourism, among others.
