Praia, Feb 19 (Inforpress) – The Chargé d’Affaires of the Luxembourg Embassy in Cabo Verde announced the 2030 Platforms for Local Development and Goals Program will be extended to the Sal Island and Tarrafal de Santiago.
The revelation made by Thomas Barbancey, during his speech on Thursday, at the opening ceremony of the 5th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Platform for Local Development and Objectives 20/30 Program in Cabo Verde, financed by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, with technical support and management from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
“In order for this program and its effects to have national coverage, I announce that, at the request of the Minister of Finance, Luxembourg agrees to extend the program to the municipalities of Sal and Tarrafal in 2021”, said the official saying that the resources initially budgeted for international activities to promote decentralized cooperation they will be redirected to that support.
According to Thomas Barbancey, despite the pandemic and a certain slowdown in activities, the platform and decentralization fund program continue to progress, thanks to the commitment and participation of all in the development of local territories and communities.
