Physical activity “avoids risk factors” for chronic non-communicable diseases – INSP responsible

Praia, Apr 7 (Inforpress) – The executive director of the National Public Health Institute (INSP) considered on Wednesday, in Praia, that physical activity is an “excellent way to avoid” risk factors for chronic non-communicable diseases.

Júlio Rodrigues spoke to journalists on the sidelines of the seminar on “The importance of physical activity in the prevention of stroke”, to celebrate the Annual World Day for Physical Activity.

At the time, the same source pointed out that physical activity is a factor in combating chronic non-communicable diseases, because “most of these diseases are preventable”, he stressed.

“That’s why we took the Annual World Day for Physical Activity to join the stroke initiative this year, which is one of the leading causes of death among cardiovascular diseases and among other diseases in Cabo Verde,” he explained.
