Performances by Portuguese-African artists mark the commemorative gala of the 25th anniversary of RTP Africa

Praia, Jan 9 (Inforpress) – The performances by artists Nenny, Elida Almeida, Ivan Alekxei and fado singer Sara Correia were the highlights at the 25th anniversary gala of RTP Africa, held on Saturday night, 7th, at the National Auditorium.

The dance group Raiz di Polon opened the session with dances to the sound of traditional African music, followed by a performance by the young artist of Cape Verdean descent Nenny, in addition to the duet provided by musicians Ivan Alekxei and Tito Paris.

Elida Almeida sang the song in honor of Cape Verdean cultural figures “Bersu de Ouro”, and “Segredo” with the participation of rappers Nitry and Indira, in a show that also featured a performance by the São Tomé singer Sílvia Barros.

In an interview with Inforpress, the Deputy Director of RTP Africa, Carla Adão, said that at the beginning of the first steps towards the start of RTP Africa, the first delegation to broadcast live was Cape Verde, hence the choice of Praia City for the celebrations of the 25 years of the television station.
