Praia, Feb 12 (Inforpress) – The political parties with a parliamentary seat defended Thursday in Parliament that the former soldiers from the 1st Incorporation of 1975 deserve recognition, but differ in their equivalence with the Freedom Fighters of the Fatherland.
These positions were expressed during the assessment, in this first plenary session of February that ended today, of the Public Petition of the former Military Personnel of the 1st Incorporation of 1975 Association (AMINCOR75 of the FARP) to equate former military personnel with the Freedom Fighters of the Fatherland.
On the side of the Independent and Democratic Cabo Verdean Union (UCID-opposition party), MP Dora Pires said that her party recognizes and bows to this military because many, still young, have left their dreams to pay their loyalty to that Country was being born.
“Yes, they must be equated with the National Combatants. With a lot of respect for those who have that title, but I know many people, due to their trajectory, who have this title and I don’t know how. Why can’t these former soldiers have this right? ”, she asked.
