Parliament approves PAICV request for the Government to present emergency contract with Bestfly

Praia, Oct 28 (Inforpress) – The Parliament approved Wednesday the request made by the PAICV parliamentary group, the main opposition party, for the Government to present the emergency contract it signed with the Bestfly group in May of this year.

At the time of request, the workbench leader, João Baptista Pereira, said the party believes that Parliament is not in a position to monitor Government policy and the various acts on transport and, therefore, asked the emergency contract, as well as the concession contract signed with TICV be delivered to Parliament.

In reaction, the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, volunteered to make the emergency contract available, but clarified that at no time was it said that there is a concession contract with the Cabo Verde Inter-lhas carrier (TICV).

Submitted for approval the request was eventually approved with 68 votes in favor, 37 of the MpD (ruling party), 29 PAICV (opposition party), two UCID (opposition party) and one abstention of MP Fernanda Burgo, MpD.
