Praia, Oct 29 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente, responsible for Social Communication, suggested that part of the revenue from the equitable compensation fee for private copying be channeled to the cinema and audiovisual sector.
The proposal was made Wednesday in the presentation of the law that proceeds to the first amendment to Law No. 118 / VIII / 2016, which creates the equitable compensation rate for private copying, to be discussed during the ordinary session of the National Assembly, which takes place until Friday, the 30th, and the debate on the situation of Justice has a high point.
According to the official, the current amount to be allocated to the promoters of the phonogram and videogram, which has been granted to the Cinema and Audiovisual Association of Cabo Verde (ACACV), will be channeled to boost the production and exhibition of cinema made in the national territory.
Another proposal, as indicated by the minister, will be the transfer of 40 percent (%) from the Cultural Support Fund to the Guarantee Fund of the Banco da Cultura system. Also during this session, the draft law that proceeds to the first amendment to the Statute of the Regulatory Authority for the Media was also discussed in general.
