Praia, Feb 17 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Trofa informed that it has opened until May 31, the Lusophone competition of Trofa – Matilde Rosa Araújo Award for fairy tales authors from African Countries of Portuguese Official Language (PALOP).
According to information posted on the website of the Portuguese Municipality, the initiative is from the City Hall of Trofa in partnership with Camões – Cooperation and Language Institute, and aims to promote children’s literature, introducing new authors and illustrators.
The 2021 edition, reported the same source, stands out for some novelties compared to previous editions, clarified that authors with or without published books can participate and there are only two awards: the Matilde Rosa Araújo Award, for the best fairy tale, in the amount of 2500 euros and the Illustration Award, for the best illustration, in the amount of 2000 euros.
The contest is aimed at citizens over 18 years of age, born in Portuguese-speaking countries, naturalized and foreigners whose situation of stay in the country is duly legalized and with proven residence for more than two years.
