Praia, Aug 11 (Inforpress) – A delegation from the Cabo Verdean African Independence Party (PAICV) will participate as observer in the general elections in Angola scheduled for August 23.
Speaking to Inforpress, one of PAICV’s vice-presidents, Rui Semedo, said that it’s a “pleasure and honor” participate as observer in the general election in Angola, a “country of friendship” and a member of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries).
“Angola is a country that has been a fundamental ally of Cabo Verde and has cooperated since the first years of independence. For us it is a pleasure,” he said.
The vice president of the main opposition party wanted the general elections in Angola to be “free, fair and transparent” and the Angolans vote according to their conscience.
